Crips and Bloods: Made in America explores how the Crips and Bloods gangs arose in the United States and their bloody aftermath, which resulted in the deaths of at least 15,000 people. The film pays close attention to what made people what to join a violent gang and how the authorities responded to the growth of gang culture.

Featuring four African-Americans who were once part of these gangs, the film shows how a hopeless life in Los Angeles led them to turn down a path of crime. While society had failed them, the Crips and Bloods gangs offered a sense of belonging, respect and safety.

Yes this documentary provides a completely different perspective on gangs than what you have most likely seen in other documentaries. It gets straight to the core of why these organisations exist and what can be done to turn people away from them.
