Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds is a four-part documentary which explores the true nature of spiritual experiences in the context of theoretical and proven science.
Part 1 - Akasha, an Ancient Indian word meaning sky, or space. Thousands of years ago people believed the sky was the realm of the god, more recently a vast empty space and in the last 100 years, we have learnt that space is anything but empty. In fact, we have mapped out space in such detail that we know the galaxies are part of a vast "web" which is constantly changing. A bit like the synapses in our brains. Despite all our knowledge we still know very little about the universe thanks to mysterious forces such as dark matter and dark energy.
Part 2 - The Spiral. The Pythagorean spiral is often referred to as "the golden key" and is mathematical perfection which can be found everywhere in nature. Spiral galaxies, flowers, snails among millions of other things have this unique yet consistently re-appearing pattern.
Part 3 - The Serpent and the Lotus. An ancient Hindu creation myth which has many elements involving "the golden key". In the story, Vishnu sleeps on the serpent of eternity in the cosmic ocean before heaven and earth exist. Then from the depths of the universe, the humming of om awakes him.
Part 4 - Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds series concludes with a reflection on what really makes us happy. Many people think that material wealth and possessions will cure our inner desires; they will not. You will have to look beyond this as the documentary explains.
The "Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds" documentary was created by Canadian Daniel Schmidt who is a meditation teacher as well as being a documentary filmmaker.
A quote from Daniel:
In the ancient traditions, the most important teachings were always given for free in order to ensure the purity of the teachings.
We have continued that practice and are making Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds free for all to watch. We encourage you to make a donation so that we can continue to make more films and to bring the ancient teachings into the world.
