The Porthole Mystery, a new 2018 documentary which investigates new evidence surrounding the murder of actress Gay Gibson who was murdered at the age of 21 aboard the MV Durban Castle while crossing the Atlantic Ocean between Cape Town and Southampton, England on October 18th, 1947.
The incident was coined "The Porthole Murder" because the man who was convicted of her murder, deck-hand James Camb admitted to launching her body out of a porthole after a sexual encounter.
Due to a debate in parliament surrounding capital punishment at the time, Camb did not get the death penalty. Until the 1950's many convicted of murder in the UK were hanged.
