A 2013 documentary broadcast in 2013 which looks at the crimes of one of the UK’s lesser known serial killers, Trevor Hardy, who murdered three teenage girls between late 1974 and early 1976. Hardy was sentenced to life imprisonment and died in prison until his death in 2012 at the age of 67, he had served 35 years at the time of his death.
It was revealed in 2008 that Hardy was one of fewer than 50 prisoners in the UK to be issued with a whole life tariff, meaning that the state had ordered that he remain in prison until his death. The documentary includes crime reconstructions and interviews with various people including Hardy’s younger brother. It was to be his younger brother who ultimately informed the police of Trevor Hardy’s crimes. Hardy was jailed in 1976 and died behind bars in 2012.
