Plan Colombia: Cashing In on the Drug War Failure, a 2002 documentary film by Gerard Ungerman and Audrey Brohy with narration from American actor Edward Asner (Up) about the battle against the Colombian narcotics trade.
This war on drugs is primarily headed by the United States who have spent millions of tax-payers money on trying to get the production of drugs stopped in Columbia and ending up in their country. With such a terrible GDP many farmers rely on growing coca to make a living. On top of that, you have the left-wing guerrilla movements which want the narcotic trade to continue in Columbia be it provides them with a vital income. Another dynamic thrown into the mix is corrupt politicians and other officials.
This documentary explores why it has been seemingly impossible to stop drugs coming out of Columbia.
