Paris Is Burning, a 1990 documentary by American director Jennie Livingston about drag queens living in New York City.
The film focuses on their lifestyle and the African-American, Latino, gay, and transgender communities involved in it. According to many, this documentary is fundamental to capturing the Ball subculture in its "Golden Age". As a result, it was selected by the Library of Congress to be preserved in the National Film Registry in the United States for its historical significance.
