Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media showcases the beliefs of Noam Chomsky, one of Americas most influential linguists and political figures. The centrepiece of the film focuses on how big business and governments work together to make a propaganda machine in order to manipulate the thoughts of their populations. Of course with this being a 1992 documentary the film highlights the massive coverage of the communist atrocities of Khmer Rouge regime of Cambodia and the suppression of news of the US supported Indonesian invasion and subjugation of East Timor.
