Bobby Fischer Against The World is a feature-length biographical documentary about the strange and tragic life of professional chess player Bobby Fischer.

 

Robert James Fischer (March 9, 1943 – January 17, 2008) was an American chess grandmaster and the eleventh World Chess Champion. He is considered by many to be the greatest chess player of all time. This documentary which was directed by American filmmaker Liz Garbus explores Fischer's' life, from a troubled childhood to becoming an icon of the Cold War.

 

In the mid-1950's Bobby Fischer started becoming a force to be reckoned within the world of chess, for his game rapidly improved making him the worlds youngest ever chess master age the age of just 14. Despite being one of the most famous chess players of all time Bobby Fischer always remained a mysterious character; the documentary "Against The World" reveals more about the man than has ever been published in the media before using interviews and archive footage.
