Bag It is a 2010 comedy documentary following American actor Jeb Berrier (I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore) after he made a pledge to stop using plastic bags.
While he doesn't see himself as a "tree hugger", he and his wife came to the realisation that using so much plastic is probably not good for their health and has an unnecessarily negative impact on the environment. To learn more about the plastic revolution which has only happened in the last 50 years or so, Jeb embarks on a global tour where he will find out about the politics and big business involved in the production of plastic and just what the scale of single-use plastics really is.
It turns out that there is an enormous amount of waste from "disposable" plastic products, which only leads to another question; What about other waste products? Are items which are marked as recyclable really recycled?
Ultimately The bag it documentary make us think about how much plastic we use in a comedic manner and puts a different spin on how we should be thinking about protecting the environment. It's a light-hearted approach to a serious subject.
