Tales of the Grim Sleeper, a 2014 crime documentary by British filmmaker Nick Broomfield about the American serial killer Lonnie David Franklin Jr.
Lonnie David Franklin Jr. is believed to be responsible for at least 10 murders which took place in Los Angeles, California. He gained the nickname the "Grim Sleeper" because unlike most serial killers he appeared to take a break from his killing spree, which lasted 14 years between 1988 and 2002.
Using new technology and a massive stockpile of evidence police were eventually able to track down Franklin in 2010. After many delays, the case finally went to trial in 2016, which resulted in him [Franklin] being convicted of murdering 9 women and one teenage girl between 1985 and 2007 (though it is believed Franklin could have killed 25 or more people). He was sentenced to death in August 2016 and to this day lives on death row. This documentary tells the story.
