A Tool documentary. Tool: Vicarious is a 2007 documentary film about the America rock band tool who formed in Los Angeles in 1990. The band consists of four members, drummer Danny Carey, Adam jones (guitarist), Maynard James Keenan (guitarist) and Justin Chancellor who is the front man and vocalist. The styles of their music could be categorised as Alternative metal, art rock progressive and metal progressive rock but their particular style carries deep messages and melds into its own unique sound which has won the members three grammy awards collectively after global success topping charts in many different countries with songs such as Lateralus and eulogy.

 

Tool are like no other band before them and as they first emerged in the Los Angels heavy metal scene in the early 1990’s with the album undertow(1993) for which they quickly gained attention as great musicians and therefore gathered a cult following. Over the years tool has moved through an array of different styles as we see in this tool documentary, one could describe the relationship between the band and today's music industry is ambivalent, at times marked by censorship, and the band's insistence on privacy.
