The Story Of Flight 93: This documentary film tells the harrowing story of flight 93 which was hijacked by terrorists on September 11th 2001. United Airlines Flight 93 was a passenger flight with 37 people on board which took off 37 minuets late from Newark Liberty International, New Jersey, en-route to its destination; San Francisco International Airport. It would never make it there. Al-Qaeda terrorists on the plane hijacked the aircraft 41 minuets into the journey and began to act out their plan by changing course towards Washington D.C. The true intended target of the terrorists remains a mystery to this day however it is widely agreed upon that they were planning to crash flight 93 into either the white house or the capital building.
Not long after the hijackers took control of the plane, several passengers and flight attendants were able to make phone calls and learn that attacks had already been made by Al-Qaeda on the city of New York. At that point the terrifying situation became apparent and as a result many of the passengers attempted a revolt against the terrorists for which they gained the upper hand in but rather than conceding the terrorists decided to crash flight 93 into a into a field near the Diamond T. Mine in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, near Indian Lake and Shanksville. Everyone perished onboard but their heroic attempt to take back control more than likely saved the lives of thousands dubbing them the 'the first American heroes of the 21st century.
