What is the likeliness that we are alone in the universe? This is a question that has been pondered for centuries by philosophers and theologians, Dr Frank Drake was the first man to approach this question scientifically. In 1960 he began working on his theory, looking at several key elements needed in which an alien civilisation may arise and thrive long enough to make contact with another society.
This documentary looks at each stage of the Drake equation, with some insight from the man himself. And we ask the question, whether we really are a special, unique cosmic anomaly, or perhaps merely an inevitability given the right conditions and enough time to flourish.
