The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, a 2015 crime documentary mini-series by director Andrew Jarecki (producer of Capturing the Friedmans) about American real estate heir Robert Durst from New York who was accused of the murder of Susan Berman in 2000.
The film begins with the investigation into the death of Durst's wife Kathie who disappeared in 1982. The case was never resolved. It then moves on to the execution-style murder of Susan Berman who was a close friend of Durst before looking into the death and dismemberment of Morris Black, Durst's neighbour in Texas back in 2001.
Ultimately "The Jinx" documentary is a dot-connector which aims to piece together whether or not Robert Durst is a murder or not. According to The New York Times, the filmmakers sought legal advice on when to share new evidence with law enforcement, weighing journalistic privilege against possible claims of evidentiary inadmissibility in a future trial.
