The Dark Matter of Love follows the story eleven-year-old Masha Kulabokhova who grew-up in a Russian orphanage all her life and is now being adopted by the Diaz Family in the United States.
This documentary which was directed by Sarah McCarthy begins as Masha is leaving Russia for the first time to start her new life in Wisconsin. It explores closely the problems of such a monumental change and how parental bonding can be a big challenge but one which is worth everything in the long run. To help build a relationship the family hire Dr Robert Marvin and Professor Emeritus, two developmental psychologists who use objective scientific methods to make things go smoother.
