Shadow Company is a 2006 war documentary by Nick Bicanic which asks one seemingly simple question; What does it really mean to be a good soldier?

 

The film follows four different war veterans who fought in World War 2, Vietnam, Gulf war and Iraq war who talk about their experiences. Taking a dark turn to reality the documentary discusses what it really means to kill without hesitation, to take orders without question and accept that the innocent could well be collateral damage.

 

Yes, Shadow Company asks the hard questions to those who have been in the thick of combat situations with candid interviews and archive footage. What most of us know about war is from the media but this documentary tells a story of what being a soldier really means and how much of an impact it has on your beliefs.
