The Orangutan is one of the most endangered species in the world thanks to the destruction of their natural habitat because of deforestation and through illegal hunting.
For ten years a team of medics has been working in the jungles of Borneo to help save this critically endangered animal from Extinction. The 2018 documentary "Red Ape: Saving the Orangutan" hosted by British actor Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans) tells the story of this life-saving work as well as how what is considered to be our closest living relative has been driven to the brink of extinction.
The is no doubt that the Orangutan is one of the most iconic animals on the planet, but it could well be the case they will no longer exist in the near future. In fact, that future could have been a lot of sooner if there were not groups like the medics featured in this documentary and governments who were willing to take serious action against illegal activities.
