Precision: The Measure of All Things is a 2013, three-part documentary series created by professor Marcus du Sautoy that follows the history of the human pursuit of precision measurement. Each of the three episodes in this documentary series follows a number of main subjects. Episode 1 is Time and distance, the story of how the meter came to be from revolutionary France and how the time and distance measurements are ever increasingly becoming more accurate along with advances in science.
Continuing on from time and distance follows Mass and Moles explored in episode 2, featuring the most important piece of metal in the world, the original kilogram which is also stored in France.
The final episode of “Precision: The Measure of All Things” covers the measurement properties of Heat, Light and Electricity; things that drive the modern world like never before and makes for a fitting end to the series.
