Planet Earth 2 episode 1 – Islands,

exploring the wonderful array of animals that live on both large and small islands.

This is episode 1 of the highly popular natural history documentary series Planet Earth presented by Sir David Attenborough and produced by documentary film makers Mike Gunton, Tom Hugh-Jones. Planet Earth two was first aired on British TV in November on BBC One HD & BBC and will run through 6, 1 hour long episodes though until mid November.

The tantalising trailer shown over the last couple of month gives us an insight into what we are to expect in the new series more than ten years after the first Planet Earth documentary was made. The music in the trailer is in fact the same music used to promote the original series: "Hoppípolla" by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós.

I thought they would return to the sloth towards the end of the episode. You know, just to show that he was able to get to the girl or not. Guess he was left hanging after all, just like I was, waiting for a closure to the sloth's story. Epic documentary nevertheless! More please!!
