Ex-gangster Jason Coghlan from Stockport, England spent 12 years in prison for armed robbery of a post office but now he has cut loose his criminal lifestyle and has decided to go legit. He set up a law firm 5 years ago with the aim to help British criminals who have been apprehended abroad get in touch with the best lawyers. This was reported in the Mirror. His law firm bridges the language barrier for many criminals in the Costa Del Sol as he has been quoted say: “The gangsters on the Costa del Sol are significantly more comfortable trusting me, a man they could've known for many years, either in person or by reputation, rather than some Spanish lawyer whose name they couldn’t even pronounce.”
The “Walking Heavy” documentary produced by Vice takes a look into the life of Jason over the last two years with unprecedented access. Life seem to be on the up for both Coghlan and his company however his notorious history is never really too far behind him as we see in the film.
