Jordan Peterson gained internet fame after the now famous Channel 4 Interview with Cathy Newman about equal pay for women. Before then Peterson, a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto sparked outrage among the hard-left for denouncing Canada's Bill C-16, a law that requires people to be named by their preferred gender identity pronouns. While the law was thought to help people struggling with gender expression it actually imposes dictatorial speech control from the government, something Jordan identified as being extremely dangerous.
As a result, Jordan Peterson has become an extremely polarizing figure, though he sees himself as being in the centre of things, offering the objective endpoints to ideologies that sometimes seem reasonable at face value.
The 2018 "Jordan Peterson: Truth in the Time of Chaos" documentary by David Fuller explores how Peterson has become one of the worlds most significant thinkers in the last few years.
