India’s Daughter, a 2015 crime documentary film by Leslee Udwin based on the Dehli Gang-Rape, an infamously disturbing incident which happened in December 2012. Jyoti Singh a 23-year-old physiotherapy student was raped and murdered while travelling home on a bus after watching the movie "Life of Pi" with a friend. The incident sparked outrage around the world and brought about protests against the Indian government for not doing enough to protect women.
The documentary was banned by the Indian government for its criticisms. The director was forced to flee the country as a result.
