Hip-Hop Evolution is a Canadian 4 part documentary which looks at the history of Hip Hop presented by rapper Shad.

 

The journey begins back in the 1970's with figures like DJ Kool Herc developing the foundation of the hip-hop sounds, though the 80's where hip-hop truly became mainstream with the likes of groups such as NWA. Not only does the documentary uses archive footage but it also uses interviews with many of the most influential rappers and DJ's in hip-hop history such as Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, N.W.A, Ice-T, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and LL Cool J.
