High Chaparral is a short documentary film directed by David Freid about Swedens Wild West Approach to the Syrian refugee crisis. The country will be accepting more than 160, 000 immigrants due to the Syrian war and 500 of them will have found themselves living in High Chaparral, a wild west styled theme park.
This documentary focuses on a light-hearted response to people who are looking for sanctuary during a difficult period in their lives. The park is located in the middle of a Swedish forest and is a somewhat an accurate representation of turn-of-the-20th-century USA. Though this documentary is not feature length it has been praised for taking a fresh approach to the immigration crisis.
