Harold Shipman was a general practitioner (personal doctor) based in Hyde, Manchester and one of the darkest criminals of the 20th century. In January 2000 he was found guilty of murdering fifteen elderly patients who were in his care. While the case was officially made for fifteen victims, it has been estimated that he killed at least 250 people over a 27-year period between 1971 and 1998. He is the biggest murderer in British criminal history hands down.
The murder spree is almost unbelievable consisting mostly of the elderly but a 41-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl were also believed to be his victims also. The grimmest aspect of what happened to those people is they were not murdered down some dark alley, but in a place, you are supposed to have the utmost trust in by a doctor you put faith in.
This Harold Shipman documentary titled "Doctor Death", tells the story of what happened.
