Man VS machine. This documentary is about the famous chess game between Garry Kasparov who at the time was considered by many to be the best chess player in the world and the IBM built super computer named “deep blue”. The computer was designed and built in 1996 with the specific intention of beating Kasparov but that year it failed.

The following year IBM offered to play a rematch with a tweaked deep blue. The match consisted of six games, three of which were draws but the computer won the final decisive 6th match which was the first time a computer had defeated a world chess champion. Kasparov was not happy and claimed that IBM had cheated to win, in fact there are a number of conspiracies surrounding the game with some people saying that people were secretly manipulating the machine. IBM of course had a vested interest by increasing their market value by heavily promoting the win.
