Darwin's Nightmare, a 2004 political nature documentary by Austrian filmmaker Hubert Sauper about the effects of fishing the Nile perch in Tanzania's Lake Victoria.
This predatory fish has wiped out other native species to the lake and is commercially fished to be sold in Europe. Becuase of this aggressive industry, Tanzanian's are left with a dwindling food source from Lake Victoria. The environmental impact has also been very negative.
The Darwin's Nightmare documentary won numerous awards including the 2006 Academy Award for Documentary Feature at the 78th Academy Awards.
