Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, a ground-breaking 13-part documentary series narrated by American Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson looking at many aspects of what we have learned about the very nature of reality.
The series is a direct follow up to the landmark documentary "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage" by American Astronomer and public figure for projects such as SETI Carl Sagan. The first series changed perceptions of space and how we view the world for generations, however, the film was made in 1980 and while it has stood the test of time many amazing new discoveries have been made in science since. One can look at "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" as an up-to-date version of the original, exploring much of what the human race has learned about the world since the 1980's and what we may have to look forward to in the future.
After Carl Sagan's death in 1996, his widow Ann Druyan along with Astrophysicist's Steven Soter and Neil DeGrasse Tyson sought to make a new series honouring the legacy of Sagan. It wasn't until 2014 that it would finally become a reality.
