Communism: The Promise and the Reality is a 1995 documentary series which looks at the evolutionary history of the communist ideology.
Beginning in the early 20th Century with the Bolshevik revolution in 1917 led by Vladimir Lenin, the documentary then moves on through most significant events in communism until 1993. Ultimately what the series Communism: The Promise and the Reality wants to examine is the difference between the idealism of communism and how it actually turned out in reality. Without giving too much away, it didn’t work out so well.
