This new branch of science presents a number of challenges and more especially responsibility because once we are able to fully harness this amazing power then technology is going to start progressing at an exponential rate. The argument is put forward that we on a turning point in human knowledge and within the next 100 years we will turn from a species of discovery to a species of mastery.
So essentially we are going to be able to manipulate the world around us in a massive way within the next 100 years according to Michio Kaku. Future Quantum technologies are certainly going to be amazing but lets not forget that we are already able to change the world around us to our advantage, for example Genetically modified crops and clones but the world of quantum mechanics is going to make these achievements look small because it targets the universe at a fundamental level. This means that we are literally going to be able to change the laws that govern our lives.
