The second episode in the documentary series Science Britannica presented by Brian Cox. In this film Brian comes face to face with the British visionaries who laid the foundations for modern science, from code breakers to the people who defined the fundamental laws of physics which we take for granted today.

 

What is science? how has it shaped our world? Brian Cox demonstrates this by performing one of the most famous experiments of all time, the iconic light experiment which was first devised by Sir Isaac Newton. Characters like Newton have allowed us to investigate nature in a powerful new way which is just one of the many achievements by British scientists over the years. Science Controls that pass the present and the future of everyone, a hypothesis that is explored in this film.
