A documentary about the The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor produced by the History channel and narrated by Greg Stebner. The F-22 Raptor is the fifth generation in twin engine jet fighters developed for the United States airforce by Lockheed Martin as part of the Advanced Tactical Fighter program. The primary purpose of the Raptor is as a straight up air to air combat machine which is currently superior to almost anything else in the world however is it also designed to perform ground attacks, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence.

 

The plane was developed during the mid 1990’s under a top secret program with the first flight happening on 7th September 1997. It was not until 15th December 2005 that it entered service after a program that cost more than 50 billion US dollars. Today there are 187 or them in service around the world using unprecedented air combat capabilities the likes of which we see in this documentary.
